Orange line train or Hospital! Which one is more important for Pakistani People?
If for a whole week, you can either get water, food and health or luxurious cars and branded dresses, shoes, bags etc. what would you choose? Let me guess, water, food and health. Obviously because you can’t live without water and food for three days or if I have to say more precisely, you will die without any water, food and good health. Won’t you?
Man is born with certain rights and duties. The basic human rights include food, shelter, education and protection. Basic rights are necessities not luxuries. For any country, the first priority of the government must be the well-being of its people. Every individual should have his basic needs fulfilled.
When the
government fulfills these basic needs of its people, then the people
whole-heartedly works for their government. Thus, the peace and harmony of the
one’s country is then maintained.
If the
basic needs of people are not fulfilled, then the people would do illegal and
immoral things like stealing and killing for their survival; as they would have
no choice but to fight for their right or die with hunger and poor health.
So, the question is, which one is more important? Orange line train or hospital?
These
days, the Government of Pakistan is working more on luxuries than
necessities. Metro buses and orange line trains are one of them. According
to a Lancet study,
among 195 countries, Pakistan ranks 154th in terms of quality and accessibility
of healthcare.
According
to a research, the infant mortality rate in Pakistan from 2008 to 2018 was at
about 57.2 deaths
per, 1000 live births.
If you
ask me, the government of Pakistan should first work on the necessities of life
than luxuries. Health, education and security are the main foundation of any
developed countries.
Billions of rupees have been invested on Metro buses and Orange line trains, if this money would have been invested on the hospitals and education, the condition of Pakistan would have been much better than now.
The people
of Pakistan suffer a lot because of the shortage of hospitals. If a person's
condition is serious in Khairpur (small town of Pakistan), he or she has
to travel to Bahawalpur because of the shortage of hospital in
their own area. Many people have even died during the traveling.
Poor
people cannot afford the costly medicines and that lead them to further health
complications and sometimes even death. Most of the time the patients cannot
get beds in hospitals and they suffer a lot tolerating this.
Due to
less numbers of hospitals in Pakistan, the number of patients in one hospitals,
sometimes, increases more than thousands and it is extremely difficult for the
doctors in the hospitals to handle or deals with such a large number of
patients.
Conclusions:
To conclude
the above discussion, the government of Pakistan should first work on the
necessities of life than luxuries so that people with poor health conditions can
become healthy first and then can also enjoy these luxurious facilities.
