Define Noun? And Kinds of Noun


Noun:
The name of a person, place or thing is called noun.
For examples:
Man, Post office, Pencil, dog, The Quran, Arabian sea, ocean, continent, country, city, boy, girl, mountains etc.
Kinds of Noun:

Proper Noun:
A particular name of a person, place or thing is called proper noun.
For examples:
    John, Mary, The Quran, Arabian sea, Lahore, Karachi, London, America, united kingdom, K2 mountain, Asia, Africa etc.
Common Noun:
A common name of a person, place or thing is called common noun.
For examples:
    Boy, girl. City, country, continent, ocean, dog, cat, sea, river, book, mountain etc.
Countable Noun:
 Anything that can be counted by us, whether singular – a dog, a house, a friend, etc. or plural – a few books,   lots of oranges, etc. is known as a countable noun. Notice that singular verbs are used with singular countable nouns, while plural verbs are used with plural countable nouns.
Uncountable Noun: 
Anything that cannot be counted by us is known as an uncountable noun. Even though uncountable nouns are not individual objects, they are always singular and one must always use singular verbs in conjunction with uncountable nouns.. Notice that singular verbs are always used with uncountable nouns.
Abstract Noun:
It is a noun which has no existence and can’t be seen, but it can be felt.
For examples:
    Honesty, hunger, thirst, love, hatred, feelings, emotions, sorrow, thoughts, happiness, health etc.
Material Noun:
A noun which has his own existence and can be seen is called material noun.
For examples:
    Iron, gold, silver, diamond, stone, wood, sugar, soil, steel etc.
Collective Noun:
It is the name of a group or collection of the same kind of things regarded as one.
For examples:
    Army, team, police, jury, committee, class, party, society, united nation.
