What is dictionary?

Dictionary is a book which is designed for listing and explaining the words of a language or words and topics of a specials subject such as religion, medicine, architecture etc. It is arranged in ABC order. Uses of Dictionary A dictionary  has many uses. A person consults dictionary to know the meaning of a word that comes across. The dictionary also tells the pronunciation of a word. It also tells the parts of speech of particular words. Since it is alphabetically arranged explains the words or gives equivalent words so it is easy to find a word that one wants. It also explains words by explaining its literal meaning and idiomatic meaning.

Define Articles and its kinds?

Articles: Articles are not a separate part of speech. They are adjectives as they are used to qualify noun or pronoun. Kinds of Articles: There are two types of Articles: •    Definite Articles •    Indefinite Articles Definite Articles: “The” is a definite article as it refers to particular noun or pronoun. For examples: 1.    The Titanic sank in the sea. 2.    The News V is an American magazine. 3.    She is the woman who was asking about you. 4.    The rich should help the poor. Verb: The verb is a word which says something about the activity, action or state of subject. It occupies central position in a sentence because it is a word by which we say something about a subject. For examples: 1.        She is plucking the beautiful flowers. 2.        John sang a sweet song in the musical concert yesterday. 3.        He is knocking at the door. Kinds of Verb: A verb which requires an object, in a sentence is called a transitive verb. In a transitive verb, the action is doesn’t stop with the doer but passes from the doer (subject) to the object. For examples: Man, Post office, Pencil, dog, The Quran, Arabian sea, ocean, continent, country, city, boy, girl, mountains etc. Kinds of Noun: Proper Noun: A particular name of a person, place or thing is called proper noun.
